We are currently onsite completing improvement works to the Lidl store on Allison Street, Ayr.

The refurbishment of the store will include a new bespoke bakery, external trolley bay, energy efficient LED lighting, both internally and externally, a fully glazed shopfront and upgraded car park. There will also be improved welfare facilities for the staff.

Gordon Rafferty, Head of Property for Lidl Scotland said, “We constantly review our store portfolio to ensure stores are up to date with our current specification. We also look at areas of stores, regardless of age, to ensure that the customer always has a positive shopping experience.”

Michael Scanlan, Director, Clark Contracts added, “It is fantastic to be working with Lidl again to upgrade their Ayr store. This is the 8th project we have delivered for Lidl since 2014 and we are looking forward to seeing the difference the improvements make for staff and customers.”

The Lidl store on Allison Street is now closed temporarily to allow works to be completed on a refit to the store. The current phase is scheduled to last for 10 weeks and the new look store will re-open in September 2018. Customers can travel to the Kilmarnock branch during the closure.

The project is registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme (site registration number: 108972) and was audited by an approved assessor in May 2018. The Considerate Constructors Scheme was formed in 1997, by the construction industry to improve its image and is concerned with how construction activities may impact upon the image of the industry as a whole.
