Our Annual Health and Safety Awards Ceremony was held on Thursday 8th December at The Experience in Hillington.
The evening was hosted by our Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Manager and attended by our projects teams from across Scotland. The awards ceremony highlights best practice in health and safety and identifies common issues in order to minimise reoccurrence.
Our Health and Safety team carry out audits on every site at least once every fortnight recording compliance and beyond compliance as well as any issues relating to health, safety or the environment which must be rectified.
Prizes are awarded to our project teams that record the highest results in their audits throughout the year and to those who go beyond the mandatory compliance standards.
The awards up for grabs included:
The prestigious Annual Health and Safety Award was presented to a team from our Small Works Division who delivered a refurbishment within the operational John Anderson Building for the University of Strathclyde. This team were awarded the annual prize as a result of consistently high performance throughout the year and development of many beyond compliance initiatives.
The 4th Quarter Health and Safety Award was presented to another team from Small Works who are on site completing the refurbishment of Redmills Care Home for HC One as a result of high levels of beyond compliance awards during their site audits.
The Special Recognition Award was the first of its kind in 2016 and was awarded to a Site Manager from our Small Works Division. The award winner managed 8 jobs with 16 inspections in the year with no non-conformance reports raised.
Our Maintenance Division were awarded two prizes, one for Maintenance Supervisor for the Year and Maintenance Operative of the Year taking into account feedback from customers, audit results and best practice throughout 2016.
