Our Annual Health and Safety Awards Ceremony was held on Thursday 6th December at The Experience in Hillington.

 

The evening was hosted by our Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Manager and attended by our project teams from across Scotland. The awards ceremony highlights best practice in health and safety throughout the company and identifies common issues in order to minimise reoccurrence.

 

Our HSEQ team carry out audits on every site at least once every fortnight, recording compliance and beyond compliance as well as any issues relating to health, safety or the environment which must be rectified.

 

Prizes are awarded to our project teams that record the highest results in their audits throughout the year and to those who go beyond the mandatory compliance standards.

 

The awards up for grabs at the annual ceremony included:

  • Annual Health and Safety Award 
  • 4th Quarter Health and Safety Award
  • Special Recognition Award 2017
  • Site Supervisor of the Year 2017
  • Operative of the Year 2017

 

The prestigious Annual Health and Safety Award was presented to a team from our Fit Out Division who are delivering the fit out of 3 Atlantic Quay in Glasgow. This team were presented with the award as a result of consistently high performance throughout the year and the development of innovative beyond compliance practices.

 

The 4th Quarter Health and Safety Award was presented to a team from our Retail Division who are completing the construction of a new Lidl supermarket on Easter Road, Leith as a result of high levels of compliance and beyond compliance scores during their site audits.

 

This was our second year of presenting our Special Recognition Award and this year there were two recipients. The first was awarded to a Site Manager from our Construction East Division who had 15 inspections with no non-conformances raised and the second was awarded to a Contracts Manager from our Small Works West Division who maintained a compliance percentage of 99% following 76 audits across various projects.  

 

Our Maintenance Division were awarded two prizes, one for Maintenance Site Supervisor for the Year and Maintenance Operative of the Year taking into account feedback from customers, audit results and best practice throughout 2017.
