The new £4m St Fergus Primary School on Blackstoun Road has been handed over to Renfrewshire Council following completion of construction works by Clark Contracts.

Construction has been ongoing since February 2017 and now complete, the new single storey building will accommodate 175 pupils.

Jointly funded by Renfrewshire Council and Scottish Government, the new school is part of Renfrewshire Council’s £52m investment programme to improve local primary schools and pre-5 and additional support needs education.

During the project, Clark Contracts engaged with the pupils attending the existing St Fergus Primary School and neighbours, Glencoats Primary School to warn them of the dangers of a construction site. Following this, pupils took part in a poster competition, with the winners posters displayed around the site.

Clark Contracts Manufactured Joinery Division created bespoke shelving units for the new St Fergus Primary School. The contractor is also nearing completion on its extension and refurbishment works project at Mossvale Primary School and Nursery Class and St James’ Primary School, also in Paisley for Renfrewshire Council.

Michael Scanlan, Director, Clark Contracts said “It is fantastic to reach the handover stage of this important project. We hope the pupils and staff at St Fergus Primary School are happy with their new school and enjoy the new facility for many years to come.”
