Christmas Foodbank Collection underway at Clark Contracts

Our second annual foodbank collection is now underway with collection points set up in our Paisley and Edinburgh office’s and at our 23 sites across Scotland which will be donated to the Trussell Trust.
Our first foodbank collection was held last year after the idea was suggested to our company Steering Group who engage in a variety of activities to support local and national charities.
The initiative turned out to be a huge success with 228.3kg of food being donated from our main collection point in our Head Office in Paisley. This was enough to provide 686 meals to people in need across Renfrewshire with many more donations being made to distribution centres across Scotland from our live sites.
This year’s collection is running from Monday 28th November until Friday 16th December with staff, customers and subcontractors all invited to make donations. The food collected will then be donated to Trussell Trust distribution centre’s local to each collection point where food packages will be created and distributed to those in need.
The Trussell Trust operates 400 foodbank’s across the UK to support those experiencing crisis. In 2015/16 they provided over one million three day emergency food supplies across the UK. You can find out more about the work they do on their website.
