As part of International Women’s Day, on 8th March 2023, Clark Contracts attended St Joseph’s Academy in Kilmarnock to speak about their roles and experiences within the construction industry.
Employees from Clark Contracts’ Quantity Surveying and Marketing departments attended the event, where S1 pupils rotated around female speakers from various industries, to find out more about their role, the required skills and qualifications required and the challenges which may be faced as a woman.
Gordon Cunningham, Managing Director at Clark Contracts said, “With only 14% of jobs within the construction industry held by women, we are committed to trying to increase the diversity of our workforce. We hope that by attending events such as this, we can encourage more young women into the construction industry.”
