Clark Contracts has completed the construction of a £10m retail development within Exploration Way, Aberdeen for Knight Property Group.
The purpose-built 25,000sq.ft. store, which also provides 79 parking spaces and an outdoor projects centre for landscape and garden projects, has now been handed over to national home improvement giant, Wickes, who will now complete their fit out works.
The new building is of a steel frame design and incorporates high-performance composite wall and roof cladding and is designed to allow a mezzanine floor to be fitted to increase store capacity.
Michael Scanlan, Director, Clark Contracts added, “We were delighted to once again work with Knight Property Group having worked together on a number of similar developments in recent years. It has also been great to work with Wickes on this development within Aberdeen to provide much needed retail space within the area.”
Sarah Taitt, Chief Property & Services Officer at Wickes, said: “The new Wickes store will officially open in August. As well as providing work opportunities for the local area, we look forward to offering residents of Aberdeen access to a wide range of home improvement products, services, and expert advice from our knowledgeable staff.”
Howard Crawshaw, Managing Director of Knight Property Group, added: “The successful completion of this project brings positive news. We’re thrilled to welcome Wickes back into Aberdeen and also into our portfolio of tenancies at Westhill, enhancing the offerings for customers around Westhill.”
Wickes has existing Scottish sites in Dumfries, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Perth and Stirling. Wickes will join other big names in the business park including Starbucks, McDonalds, Screwfix and Toolstation.
