Clark Contracts have completed the fit out of a brand-new Justice Hub in Dundee for Scottish Courts and Tribunal Service.
The new facility which will support vulnerable witnesses and children in the justice system across the Sheriffdom of Tayside, Central and Fife was officially opened on the 2nd of August by the Lord President, Sheriff Principal Gillian Wade KC and the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs.
The main contractor completed a variety of works including the refurbishment of the ground floor into office spaces, WC’s and a new court room. The facility was designed on the objective of meeting the specific needs of court users who have experienced the impact of trauma in their lives, with a focus on providing a safe and secure environment to empower and enable the most vulnerable witnesses. The evidence suites have been fitted with the latest audio and digital technology and are subtly decorated in calming tones.
The creation of these facilities was made possible through £2.4m in Scottish Government funding.
Gerry Cummins, Director at Clark Contracts said “We are delighted to complete this bespoke project for repeat customer, Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service. The new Dundee Justice Hub provides a modern, empathetic and trauma informed justice centre which puts court users at its core.“
