A series of major new contract awards, totalling over £15m, in the east of Scotland has led to Paisley based construction company Clark Contracts doubling the size of its Edinburgh office.
The new office, which remains within Rosewell House, Harvest Drive, Edinburgh provides 2,300ft2 of space accommodating the company’s East based Contracts Managers, Estimators, Quantity Surveyors and Maintenance Surveyors.
In the past six months, the construction, refurbishment and maintenance contractor has won over £15m of contracts across the East of Scotland from both new and returning customers. This includes The University of Edinburgh which has appointed Clark Contracts to undertake Phase 2 of extensive refurbishment works at the Pleasance Complex, the main hub of the Edinburgh International Festival. Previously, Clark Contracts delivered Phases 1A and 1B of the overall £3.8m improvements.
Extending its considerable experience in the education sector, the company has also secured new work from the University of St. Andrews and is currently delivering the £500k refurbishment of Angus and Stanley Smith House which provides student accommodation.
The Northern Lighthouse Board has appointed Clark Contracts for the £1.1m refurbishment of its Category A listed headquarters at 84 George Street, Edinburgh.
And, the contractor is also on site delivering the construction of a new store for Lidl UK GmbH in Craigmillar and have recently been awarded the construction of a new store in Bucksburn, Aberdeen.
Gordon Cunningham, Managing Director, Clark Contracts said, “As we continue to grow across the country, we want to ensure we have the facilities to accommodate our employees in a flexible, modern environment, which is why we moved to Rosewell House 18 months ago. In 2016, £18m of our turnover will be in the East of Scotland and as a result of our continued growth in this region, we have decided to increase this space sooner than anticipated.”
