On Friday 27th April 2018, we officially launched our fundraising partnership with new nominated company charity, Teenage Cancer Trust. We have set a target of raising a total of £10,000 for the charity which will be raised through events in our office’s and staff participation in events including Pedal for Scotland and Rough Runner.

All employees were encouraged to come to work in their pyjamas, with a raffle being held giving the opportunity to win a ‘Duvet Day’ allowing staff to take an extra paid day holiday. Employees also guessed our Directors total combined sleep time over the previous 5 nights for more chances to win prizes.

In the afternoon, we welcomed Vanessa Todd, Regional Fundraiser for Teenage Cancer Trust, to our Paisley office where she delivered a short presentation on the work the charity performs and the difference our fundraising will make to young people across Scotland.

Vanessa Todd, Regional Fundraiser for Teenage Cancer Trust said, “I am delighted to be working with an organisation that is so committed to helping us reach every young person with cancer, this is an exciting partnership for us that will transform the lives of young people across the country.”

Gordon Cunningham, Managing Director, Clark Contracts added: “We are excited to be supporting Teenage Cancer Trust. The decision to partner with the charity was made by our employees and we are looking forward to fundraising and seeing the difference we can make.”

In total we raised over £650 from our ‘Pyjama day’, with the company matching this to take the total to £1,300. We have also raised £600 as part of our annual Spring Classic Cycling Event and have had colleagues participate in the London Marathon and the Kiltwalk which has raised a further £1,600 taking the total raised for Teenage Cancer Trust to £3,500.

This money will help Teenage Cancer Trust with their aim of reaching every young person between the ages of 13-24 and providing them with access to specialist care and peer support. You can read more about the work Teenage Cancer Trust do on their website.
