Clark Contracts Manufactured Joinery division has struck up an eco-friendly partnership with local Gleniffer High School.
The company’s Manufactured Joinery Division has offered to donate its excess materials to the workshop at Gleniffer High School. The school will then use the materials in woodwork classes for pupils of all ages. The partnership will provide a variety of materials including MDF, plywood and hardwoods such as oak.
The two parties have history as a group of pupils visited the main contractor’s manufactured joinery workshop in 2017 to have a tour of the facility and to witness first-hand what working as a joiner would be like.
Gerry Cummins, Director, Manufactured Joinery Division said: “This is a great way for us to help our local community whilst minimising waste in our manufactured joinery facility. We hope that our donation of materials helps to train the future joiners of the industry.”
David Ramsay, Teacher of Technical Subjects, Gleniffer High School said: “Clark Contracts is a prestigious local company with a national profile and we are delighted to be a part of this initiative. Not only does it help pupils recognise sustainability issues when selecting materials for design but also gives them a broader understanding of the different categories and properties of materials that are available”.
Founded in 1978, Clark Contracts Ltd is a privately owned main contractor with six operating divisions; Construction, Fit Out, Small Works, Retail, Maintenance and Manufactured Joinery.
