Clark Contracts has supported Social Bite’s Festival of Kindness campaign, helping to provide hot meals to people affected by homelessness this Christmas.
Throughout December, Clark Contracts employees have been collecting funds across their sites and offices to raise money for Social Bite’s initiative, which aims to provide people experiencing homelessness and vulnerable people, joy at Christmas by providing gifts, a Christmas meal or a safe place to stay.
Gordon Cunningham, Managing Director of Clark Contracts said, “We are delighted to have been able to support Social Bite with this donation for Christmas. The work that Social Bite do across the country is extremely important and we hope our donation makes a difference to those in need.”
Social Bite founder Josh Littlejohn MBE said, “We’re incredibly grateful to Clark Contracts for their generous donation. With homelessness on the rise across the UK, including a 5% increase in Edinburgh and 15% in Glasgow this year, support like this is more vital than ever. Clark Contracts' contribution helps make our Festival of Kindness possible, ensuring Social Bite can provide food, gifts, and essential items to people who need it most during the winter months.”
Social Bite is a charity and social enterprise dedicated to providing homes, jobs, food, and support to empower people to transform their own lives, working towards a future where no one has to face homelessness. The Festival of Kindness campaign aims to provide 300,000 meals, gifts and essential items to homeless and vulnerable people across the country.
The contractor has supported various charities over the last 12 months, having donated school supplies to Cash for Kids partners, Paisley YMCA and Edinburgh School Uniform Bank in August, Easter eggs to Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) in April and books to Action for Children’s Christmas Appeal last December.
