Developing the Young Workforce ROCCO Award Shortlisting for Clark Contracts

Clark Contracts has been shortlisted for a ROCCO Business Award for the second consecutive year.


The construction, refurbishment, maintenance contractor has been shortlisted for the Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce ROCCO business award for Developing the Young Workforce and will find out if it has been successful at the awards ceremony which takes place at the Normandy Hotel on Friday 16th November.


The company, which was founded in Paisley in 1978 and is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, won the Employer of the Year award at the 2017 ROCCO Business Awards.


Gordon Cunningham, Managing Director, Clark Contracts said “It is fantastic to be shortlisted for this award during our 40th year in business. We have worked hard to develop our Academy which provides learning and development opportunities for employees across all divisions from apprenticeships to our bespoke masters course delivered in partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University.”


Over 20% of Clark Contracts’ workforce is currently studying towards a formal qualification at college or university in subjects including construction management, quantity surveying and administration.


Founded in 1978, Clark Contracts Ltd is a privately owned main contractor with six operating divisions; Construction, Fit Out, Small Works, Retail, Maintenance and Manufactured Joinery. The company works throughout the UK, employing over 250 employees and is number 72 on the 2018 Sunday Times Best Companies to Work for List. The proportion of business derived from repeat customers each year has averaged 76% over the past ten years and 72% of customers rate the contractor as ‘Impressive’ or ‘First Class’.
