Two Clark Contracts projects are finalists in the 2019 Scottish Property awards which take place on Thursday 28th February 2019 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Glasgow.
The North Ayrshire Quarry Road development has been shortlisted for the ‘Architectural Excellence (Commercial) Award’ at the 2019 Scottish Property Awards.
Clark Contracts completed the construction of the building for North Ayrshire Council in 2018 working alongside Architect, Anderson Bell + Christie. The open plan office space provides flexible and collaborative working space for local small businesses.
The Quarry Road project was the initial phase of a larger regeneration masterplan in the heart of Irvine, which aims to promote health and wellbeing. The building is home to office headquarters for KA Leisure and work spaces for Business Gateway, who aim to support local entrepreneurs and business start-ups.
22A Potterrow in Edinburgh is a finalist in the ‘Student Accommodation Development of the Year’ category. Clark Contracts completed the design and build of 52 studio bedrooms with common rooms and amenity areas across 6 floors for Curlew Property working with Architects, Yeoman McAllister. The building was constructed with stone cladding to blend in with the surrounding buildings which are in close proximity to The University of Edinburgh’s campus.
The projects have beat tough competition to be shortlisted with entries received from over 60 firms across Scotland.
The Scottish Property Awards was founded in 2014 and aims to recognise the best new commercial and public buildings in Scotland. The independent competition is judged by a panel of experts drawn from across the sector, bringing together industry experience and market knowledge to recognise the greatest achievements in the built environment across Scotland.
