A major contract has been secured by Clark Contracts to construct a new 208 bed Moxy Hotel in Southampton. This follows Clark Contracts’ earlier successful appointment to start work on the 230 bed Moxy Hotel near Edinburgh Airport, scheduled for opening late 2018. Both contracts were awarded to construction, refurbishment and maintenance contractor, Clark Contracts.
Launched in 2014, as part of the Marriott Hotels group, Moxy is a new global brand offering ‘fun, vibrant, stylish and affordable’ hotels.
The Moxy Hotel in Southampton is situated in a prominent location on the city’s Harbour Parade, facing the well known West Quay Shopping Centre. Construction work commenced in January 2018 with opening scheduled for mid 2019.
Currently under construction, the 230 bed, five storey Moxy Hotel near Edinburgh Airport is located on a former golf driving range, part of the Royal Highland showground and a key element in the Royal Highland Society’s masterplan for re-development of the showground site.

Both projects are registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme which is a non-profit-making, independent organisation founded in 1997 by the construction industry to improve its image. The sites will be audited by a CCS Assessor and scored on topics such as care about appearance, respecting the community, protecting the environment, securing everyone's safety and valuing the workforce. Moxy Edinburgh's CCS registration number is 106967 and Moxy Southampton's is 106968.
