Clark Contracts has been awarded two projects from The University of Edinburgh for refurbishment works within the James Clerk Maxwell Building (JCMB).

The JCMB building is utilised by the University’s School of Physics and Astronomy and is located within the Kings Buildings Campus which is situated 2 miles south of Edinburgh’s city centre.

The first project is being completed on levels 3 and 4 of the JCMB and includes the alteration and refurbishment of existing laboratories and teaching spaces to improve the student’s experiences.

The second project includes refurbishment of corridor space and teaching space on levels 5 and 6, with Clark Contracts already having completed the partial refurbishment of level 5 back in 2016.

Clark Contracts has previously completed six projects within the JCMB including the fit out of levels 1-4, refurbishment of lecture theatres and workshops.

Both projects commenced in June and will be completed for the new term beginning in Autumn.

The projects are registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme (site registration numbers: 66234 and 66237) and will be audited by an approved assessor.

The Considerate Constructors Scheme was formed in 1997, by the construction industry to improve its image and is concerned with how construction activities may impact upon the image of the industry as a whole.
