Clark Contracts are on site delivering the construction of a new Moxy hotel on the Royal Highland showground site next to Edinburgh Airport.
Moxy, launched in 2014, is Marriott International’s new lifestyle brand targeted at the Millennial generation. There are approximately 16 Moxy hotels already operating in Europe, Asia, North America and America.
The Edinburgh development will be the second in Scotland in addition to the recently opened Aberdeen branch which was the first of its kind in the UK. The hotel will be built over 5 floors and provide 230 bedrooms.
An innovative modular construction technique will be utilised to maximise the build speed, increase quality and health and safety. The modular CLT pod construction which is manufactured in Italy, is transported in sections and assembled on site.
Clark Contracts has also been appointed to construct a Moxy Hotel in Southampton which will house 208 bedrooms over eight storeys.
