We are on site completing the construction of a new Lidl supermarket on Easter Road in Leith, which is our 7th project for Lidl UK.
The new steel-framed store will be the first Lidl ‘Metropolitan’ supermarket in Scotland with the store being raised to provide parking space underneath and the ability to extend by adding further storeys to the building. A full fit out of the sales area, storage space and staff welfare areas is also being completed.
The store is scheduled for completion in autumn 2018 when it will open its doors to the public.
Lidl recently opened its 700th store in the UK and we have already completed the construction of new stores in Livingston, Greenock, Craigmillar, Slateford in Edinburgh and Bucksburn, Aberdeen along with the refurbishment and extension of the Arbroath store.
Clark Contracts has also been awarded an 8th project from Lidl UK for the refurbishment and extension of the existing supermarket in Ayr.
The project is registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme (Registration Number: 105931) and received a score of 38 in its first audit.
To keep local residents and businesses up to date, the Site Manager personally delivered information leaflets, to inform them of what the project will involve, with regular updates provided.
The Considerate Constructor’s Scheme was formed in 1997, by the construction industry to improve its image and is concerned with how construction activities may impact upon the image of the industry as a whole.
