Pedal for Scotland (3)

12 Clark Contracts employees and 9 customers participated in STV’s Pedal for Scotland on Sunday 11th September to fundraise for the STV Children’s Appeal and our nominated company charity ACCORD Hospice.

The event, which is now in its 18th year features two routes which lead cyclists from Glasgow Green to the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh and this year there were over 7500 participants.

Clark Contracts Managing Director, Gordon Cunningham and 8 enthusiastic cyclists had an early start setting off at 6.30am to take part in the gruelling 112mile Big Belter which travels through the southern uplands with over 2400 metres of ascent. Seven guests completed this route including consultants from Gardiner and Theobald, Michael Laird Architects, Cooper Cromar, Collective Architecture, Wilson + Gunn and 3DReid.

The remaining 10 members of the Clark Contracts team opted for the 46mile Classic Challenge which takes a direct route from Glasgow to the capital. This group was led by Director, Iain Blair and included Contracts Managers, Quantity Surveyors and Administrators from various divisions within the company who were also joined by a Director from Macmon Architects.

A proportion of each participants’ entry fee was donated to the STV Children’s Appeal and so far a further £900 has been raised for nominated company charity ACCORD Hospice. The Just Giving page for the event is still open and donations can be made here. So far in 2016 Clark Contracts have donated over £1500 to the charity who provide free specialist palliative care to Renfrewshire and parts of East Renfrewshire.
