New orders worth over £10 million were secured in March by Clark Contracts, the construction, refurbishment and maintenance contractor, making it the most successful month ever in the company’s 37 year history.
In March 2015, the firm won ten new contracts, totalling £11m. Individual contracts ranged in value from £120,000 to £4.7 million.
The new work includes a £4.7 million contract from Falkirk Council to undertake the first phase of the regeneration of Denny town centre. This involves the construction of ten new build retail units, a library and community space with associated car parking and public realm works, including a town square.
Clark Contracts was also appointed by developer Scot Sheridan to complete work on a 171 bedroom Travelodge Hotel on Queen Street, Glasgow, after the previous contractor went into administration.
The company is also to build a new retail unit in Falkirk, on the site of a former garage, for the outside catering company, David’s Kitchen.
And, East Ayrshire Council has appointed Clark Contracts to refurbish a vehicle depot at Western Road in Kilmarnock.
Adding further to Clark Contracts’ growing track record in the education sector, the new business includes work for the Universities of Abertay, Edinburgh and Strathclyde, the latter a fit out on level 6 of the new Technology and Innovation Centre in Glasgow.
Clark Contracts’ Maintenance Division also contributed to the record total with several significant wins, including a new contract from Stirling Council for building, drainage and electrical maintenance work.
Gordon Cunningham, Managing Director, Clark Contracts said, “In terms of winning new business, this is the most successful month ever in the company’s 37 year history. We believe this puts us in a strong position to achieve our third consecutive year of growth.”
