Refurbishment of local Cancer Research UK store handed over

18th February 2015 By Clark Contracts Ltd

CRUK

We have handed over our latest Cancer Research UK project which involved the fit out of our local store in Johnstone, as part of their Scottish store re-fit framework. Since July 2013 we have refurbished 48 Cancer Research UK stores across Scotland.

When the stores are closed for refurbishment, the charity must sell/displace all of their stock meaning they start again with nothing when opening the new store. In order to help support the charity in building up new stock, we collected bags of goods in our head office which were donated to the new store on its opening day, Wednesday 18th February. Cancer Research UK estimate each bag of unwanted goods to be worth around £25 which helps directly support their groundbreaking work.

Clark Contracts Director, Gerry Cummins, said “Having completed the fit out of the new Johnstone store, which is less than 5 miles from our head office and having heard how the new stores must begin to build up their new stock from scratch before opening we were keen to assist. Clark Contracts staff were invited to bring in any unwanted goods to the office. These were then transported by van directly to the Johnstone Store. We hope this allows the store to begin how it means to go on with a volume of stock to raise funds for its groundbreaking work and we look forward to continuing work with Cancer Research UK.”

On World Cancer Day, Wednesday 4th February, our Director, Gerry Cummins and one our Contracts Supervisor took part in the charities Supplier Day in London. Watch the video below and see if you can spot Gerry who makes a brief appearance at 1 minute 38 seconds.
