The 2017 Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce ROCCO Business Award for Employer of the Year, sponsored by Rolls Royce, has been awarded to Clark Contracts.
The ROCCO’s are the annual business awards of the Renfrewshire Chamber of commerce and have been taking place for over a decade.
Construction, refurbishment and maintenance contractor, Clark Contracts was shortlisted following a written submission. The contractor was then invited to take part in a face to face presentation and interview with the judges.
The winners were announced at the awards night hosted by Scottish comedian Fred MacAuley at the Normandy Hotel, Renfrew, on Friday 17th November.
The award seeks to recognise those who make efforts to reward performance and loyalty, provide staff with training and development opportunities, encourage staff engagement with the local community and charities, encourage loyalty, reduce staff turnover and improve the working environment.
Clark Contracts is an Investors in Young People Gold accredited employer and was presented with the Training Excellence Award at the 2017 Construction News awards in London in July 2017. Founded in Paisley nearly 40 years ago, 55% of the Renfrewshire Company’s 267 employees are based from its head office in Paisley.
Founded in 1978, Clark Contracts Ltd is a privately owned main contractor with five operating divisions; Construction, Fit Out, Small Works, Maintenance and Manufactured Joinery. The company employs over 250 people with offices in the East and West of Scotland. The proportion of business derived from repeat customers each year has averaged 76% over the past ten years and 72% of customers rate the contractor as ‘Impressive’ or ‘First Class’.
