Three Clark Contracts employees have graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University.
The first graduate is a Quantity Surveyor who has graduated with a 2.1 BSc honours degree from Glasgow Caledonian University having joined in 2015 for a six month placement whilst studying a Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. The student was offered a permanent position with the contractor along with the opportunity to study part time to complete his degree at Glasgow Caledonian University. The graduate now assists with the management of commercial aspects of construction and refurbishment projects ranging in value from £500k to £10m from tender stage through to completion.
Another graduate has completed their studies in Construction Management at Glasgow Caledonian University having joined in 2014 to complete a six months work placement. The Construction Management student was also offered the opportunity to study part time and complete his degree whilst continuing to work with the main contractor. Now working on site alongside experienced Site Managers, the graduate is responsible for assisting with the on site management of construction and refurbishment projects ranging in value from £500k to £10m.
The third student has graduated with a BSc honours degree in Building Surveying having started with Clark Contracts in 2007 as an administrator and progressing through various positions before being given the opportunity to study at Glasgow Caledonian University. Now a Building Surveyor, the graduate works alongside her fellow surveyors in our Maintenance Division and is responsible for the overseeing of works, ensuring that jobs run smoothly, managing multi trades and liaising with the client during and at the completion of the works to ensure they are satisfied.
David Cooper, Academy Director, Clark Contracts said “Our three recent graduates are fantastic examples of individuals who have worked very hard whilst studying part time, gaining both an honours degree and valuable hands on work experience. We know this will stand them in good stead for the future and we look forward to helping these employees continue to develop their career.”
