Apprentice Bench Hand Joiners

Founded in 1978, Clark Contracts Ltd is a privately owned main contractor with six operating divisions; Construction, Retail, Fit Out, Small Works, Maintenance and Manufactured Joinery. We employ over 230 people with offices in the East and West of Scotland.

We have now begun the recruitment process for our 2023 trade apprenticeship intake.  We are looking for individuals who have a keen interest in construction, joinery and other aspects of building to join as Apprentice Bench Hand Joiners within our Manufactured Joinery division. As part of the apprenticeship, you will study at college alongside learning the practical skills on site.

Applicants should be:

• IT Literate.
• Have good numeracy and communication skills (oral and verbal).
• Have an eye for detail.
• Able to learn new skills quickly.
• Interested in working within the construction industry.
• Have a good level of academic qualifications.
• Have a willingness to learn.

 

Role and Responsibilities

• Complying with the companies general health, safety and welfare policies in the workplace.
• Completing tasks using a range of hand and power tools.
• Assisting qualified trades persons with various construction activities.

 

Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

• Excellent timekeeping skills.
• A desire to go to a training provider and learn additional theory and practical within this trade.
• A passion for construction.
• Practical skills with the ability to take on instructions.
• Excellent communication skills, able to work in a team or on your own.
• A flexible approach to working on different sites.

 

Although not essential, having a full UK Driver’s Licence would be beneficial.
