Clark Contracts has been appointed to complete the design and build of a new £30m, 273-bed purpose built student accommodation (PBSA) development on Osborne Street in Glasgow for Ambassador Group.
The new development is situated directly in the heart of Glasgow City Centre in the Trongate area and will consist of an 11-storey building to provide a total of 273 rooms, that incorporates state-of-the-art resident amenities including a student lounge, gymnasium and large south facing terrace with views over the River Clyde.
A sod-cutting ceremony to mark the start of works took place on 9th April attended by Ahsan Afzal and Grant Millar from Ambassador Group, Alan Tang, Group CEO and Executive Director from Funder, Far East Orchard (“FEOR”), members of the design team, and Clark Contracts project team, including Director, Michael Scanlan and Operations Director, Danny McKibbens.
The development is the first for Ambassador Group’s Nova Living concept which is set to enter a new space in the market with a strong focus on sustainable, connected living within a high-quality, thoughtful, community focused residential environment. The concept is set to bring innovation to the living experience of city dwellers, putting sustainability and well-being at the forefront.
The design team includes Gardiner & Theobald, Mosiac Architecture, Blyth & Blyth and Troup Bywaters & Anders.
Ahsan Afzal, Head of Development for Nova Living at Ambassador Group, said: “We are delighted to finally commence development of our first student accommodation scheme with our partners FEOR.
