In September 2014, following the Commonwealth Games fever which took over Glasgow during the summer, we held two staff charity sporting events!
Our Clark Contracts cycling team took completed a gruelling 47 mile cycle from Glasgow to Edinburgh and all members of staff took part in our Sports Afternoon at our head office in Paisley.
Our team of 10 cyclists took part in the Pedal for Scotland 47 mile Corporate Challenge cycling from Glasgow Green to Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh, along with another 10,000 cyclists who took part in the challenge. The team featured Managing Director, Gordon Cunningham, Director, Iain Blair and colleagues from our Maintenance Division, Surveying, Site Management, Contracts Management and Buying departments with varying levels of cycling experience.
To add to the competitive spirit of the day, staff were invited to guess who would record the fastest time on the day with the winner receiving the prize of a half day holiday! The fastest time recorded on the day was 2hours 51mins!
Our office sports afternoon event involved all members of staff gathering at our head office to take part in several team events. Teams were able to try their hand at shooting basketball hoops, skiing, table tennis, balance board, putting and darts.
In total we raised over £1,000 which was split between our two nominated company charities, the Accord Hospice and The British Heart Foundation.
