The £4m extension and refurbishment of Mossvale Primary School and Nursery Class and St James’ Primary School, Paisley, has been handed over to Renfrewshire Council by Clark Contracts.

Construction works at the shared campus have been ongoing since January 2017 and now complete, the building will accommodate the two primary schools and nursery class within the main building and will house additional physical education space and a larger dining room.

The alterations are part of Renfrewshire Council’s £52m investment programme to improve local primary schools and pre-5 and additional support needs education.

Michael Scanlan, Director, Clark Contracts said “We are pleased to reach completion of this vital local project and we would like to thank the pupils and staff of Mossvale Primary School and Nursery Class and St James’ Primary School for their patience during this project.”

During the project, Clark Contracts engaged with the pupils attending Mossvale Primary School and Nursery Class and St James’ Primary School to warn them of the dangers of a construction site. Following this, pupils took part in a poster competition, with the winners posters displayed around the site.

The contractor has also recently completed the construction of the new £4m St Fergus Primary School also in Paisley for Renfrewshire Council.
