Local contractor, Clark Contracts employees donated their time to local care homes and hospices to keep their services running during the extreme weather.

Rather than hibernate until the snow storm passed, Clark Contracts operatives were out in force tackling ‘The Beast From The East’. Caring employees visited local care homes, hospices and elderly neighbours to offer their services during some of the worst weather the country has experienced.

Over 50 tradespeople volunteered to donate 400 hours to the cause which was called #pensionerspaths on social media.

The ACCORD Hospice in Paisley was one of the local charities to benefit from the scheme with 7 operatives visiting the hospice to clear the entrance to allow staff and visitors to enter and leave safely.

The ACCORD Hospice tweeted “@Clark_Contracts Huge thank you to all those who pitched in to help the Hospice! #NotAllHeroesWearCapes #TheyWearHiVisJackets”

Numerous thank you phone calls and emails were received from the relatives of those who received some help. One employee was also thanked for helping a nurse from the Beatson hospital get to work.
