Refurbishment of SPT’s Broomloan Depot commences

Clark Contracts are now on site delivering the £2.5m upgrade of SPT’s Broomloan depot.

 

SPT require to upgrade their Stabling Shed Building to accommodate their rolling stock which is about to be replaced as part of its Subway Modernisation Plan.

 

The refurbishment will include works to the roof and wall finishes and the installation of stairs and roof access. The project will be phased to keep the site operational throughout.

 

Clark Contracts has worked with SPT on a total of 3 other previous projects at the Broomloan Depot since 2013 and the contractor also completed the refurbishment of SPT’s Buchanan Street Subway in Glasgow in 2015.

The Glasgow Subway carries 13 million passengers each year and is currently undergoing its biggest modernisation programme in more than 30 years. The Glasgow Subway is more than 120 years old and is the third oldest underground system in the world behind London and Budapest.
