Work on the latest state-of-the-art high quality industrial accommodation at one of Ayrshire’s major sites for business and industry is underway.
The £4.4 million project at the Annickbank Innovation Campus, Irvine, is being delivered by Clark Contracts and will create three new industrial units, offering around 1,500 sqm of modern, energy-efficient space for a range of businesses.
This marks the final phase of development at Annickbank Innovation Campus, a key site within the i3 Enterprise Area – Scotland’s largest life sciences enterprise area.
Earlier phases have delivered almost 3,000 sqm of business space alongside infrastructure including roads, servicing and parking.
The site also saw the completion of a new office pavilion by Clark Contracts in 2024.
Councillor Eleanor Collier, Cabinet Member for Green Environment and Economy, said: “We are delighted that work has started on the fourth and final stage at the Annickbank Innovation Campus. The i3 Enterprise Area is a key strategic site for Ayrshire and one we are marketing and developing to attract top companies to the area. This new development will provide even more opportunities to attract investment into the area and we look forward to working with Clark Contracts over the coming months.”
Michael Scanlan, Director at Clark Contracts, commented: “It’s a pleasure to build on our relationship with North Ayrshire Council while helping to drive local business growth across the region through the delivery of another development at Annickbank. Together, we are also focused on delivering wider community benefits through job creation, work placements and engagement with local schools.”
The project is part of the Levelling Up for Ayrshire: Commercial and Low Carbon Infrastructure programme, with approximately £25million secured though funding from the UK Government’s Local Regeneration Fund, Shared Prosperity Fund and Scottish Government’s Vacant and Derelict Land Fund, Vacant and Derelict Land Investment Programme, Place Based Investment Programme, alongside investment from North Ayrshire Council.
